However, the final won’t be the last time we’ll be able to enjoy Strictly on our screens in 2020.
Fortunately, there is going to be a Strictly Christmas special this year, the perfect ballroom dancing fix for the festive period.
But it won’t look the same as past Strictly Christmas specials, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
So what will the 2020 festive episode be like and when will it air? Here’s all you need to know.
What will the Strictly Come Dancing 2020 Christmas special look like?
In previous years, celebrity contestants have partnered with professional dancers for the Strictly Christmas special in a bid to be crowned the winner.

This year, the Christmas special won’t feature new couples competing, due to the pandemic.
Instead, a different kind of festive episode will be aired, titled Strictly: The Christmas Countdown.
These will include dances that scored highly with the judges, in addition to routines that have become iconic due to the emotions they evoked among the audience.
‘From the perfect 40’s, the trophy-winning routines, dances that have made us laugh, and perhaps some that are remembered for other reasons – this show will have it all,’ the BBC stated.
When will the Strictly Christmas special air?
Strictly: The Christmas Special will be shown in the afternoon on Christmas Day at 4.45pm.
It will air after Pixar film Coco at 3.10pm and before Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Wheel at 6pm.
Sounds like a pretty ideal afternoon of TV viewing to us!
Strictly: The Christmas Countdown airs on Christmas Day at 4.45pm on BBC One.
