Strictly’s Jamie Laing has finally explained what really happened when he was seen dropping his dance partner Karen Hauer.
Jamie certainly looked the part (wig and all) but his energetic performance became slightly overshadowed by the fact he seemed to drop Karen, who he had lifted on to his shoulder at the end of the routine.
Viewers watching at home were left in hysterics as Karen found herself in an awkward position on the floor, while Jamie celebrated making it through the routine.
Appearing on spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday, Jamie’s partner Karen brought up the hilarious fall, when host Zoe Ball asked the pair about the reaction they received from the rest of the dance couples on the night.
‘The reaction from your fellow dance couples, they literally took the roof off. Did you feel the love from everybody?’ Zoe asked, as Karen joked: ‘I felt it when I hit the floor.’

Keen to talk about the ‘drop’, Zoe pushed Jamie who finally explained what had happened.
He said: ‘What happened was, I’m going to put it out there… we did an incredible dance. Karen was up there and then I heard an applause and I thought, “Me? Really? Get off of me, it’s not you, it’s me”.’
Karen said it left her in a position ‘she has never been in before’ on Strictly during her time on the show, but there was no bad blood as she gushed about how ‘proud’ she was of Jamie for his performance.
Jamie revealed that the Charleston was ‘so tiring’ that while rehearsing the dance in the lead up to Saturday, his heart rate had reached 196bpm in training.
The reality star joked that he had wanted to dance topless while pretending to be Hercules and said the dance had been one of his ‘top five experiences ever’.
‘It was the most amazing thing, one of the top five experiences I’ve ever had,’ he said.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday November 14 at 7.10pm on BBC One.
