On today’s instalment of Steph’s Packed Lunch, host Steph McGovern was joined by Anton to discuss this weekend’s Strictly.
The topic soon shifted to online trolling and Steph went on to claim that the reason Motsi deleted her Twitter account was because she had received abusive messages accusing her of ‘being drunk’ during Saturday’s live show.
‘Hi, guys I have decided to leave Twitter!! It’s been fun but I truly think with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.. it’s enough social media,’ the judge penned.
‘Please keep up my #strictlykindess hashtag !! You know where to find me.’ (sic)

The abusive messages came after Motsi ran into issues with her scoring paddle when she tried to give her verdict to EastEnders star Maisie Smith.
However, in doing so, she almost dropped her paddle on the floor.

Discussing the trolling Steph began: ‘If you look at Motsi – she’s had loads of abuse and she’s actually deleted her Twitter account because of them saying she looked like she was drunk – which of course she wasn’t.’
Stepping in to defend his Strictly co-star, Anton branded the accusations ‘ridiculous’.
‘No of course not and I can’t imagine why they thought that,’ he replied to Steph. ‘I don’t even know why you’d say that because she couldn’t get her paddle out.
‘Ridiculous! There is not a lot of space, you’ve got the paddles down there and you get them out and you can get it stuck in a sequin or under the desk – it’s nonsense really, stop all that nonsense and just enjoy the show.’
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Motsi’s rep for comment.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One and Steph’s Packed Lunch airs daily at 12.30pm on Channel 4.
