The rappers caused quite a stir with WAP – which stands for Wet A*s P***y – this summer thanks to the steamy music video, which features Cardi and Megan twerking, as well as the racy lyrics.
It failed to impress rap legend Snoop, who feels the artists should have reeled in the overtly sexualised content a little.
Speaking on Central Ave, Snoop explained: ‘Oh my God. Slow down. Like, slow down and let’s have some imagination.
‘Let’s have some privacy, some intimacy where he wants to find out as opposed to you telling him.
‘That should be a woman’s prized possession. That’s your jewel of the Nile.’
Snoop, 49, continued: ‘That’s what you should hold on to. That should be a possession that no one gets to know about until they know about it.

‘She may be doing the WAP or, you know what I’m saying, a part of the ‘WAP,’ but I can’t be mad at her cause it’s her generation, you know what I’m saying?’
Recognising his hypocrisy given the content of his earlier songs such as Sexual Seduction, Snoop admitted: ‘I probably would have been on a remix.
‘But, as an older man, I love it that they’re expressing themselves and they’re doing their thing.
‘I just don’t want it to where young girls feel like they can express themselves like that without even knowing that that is a jewel that they hold onto.’
Snoop’s comments come after Megan, 25, defended the raunchy song during her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend.
The Savage rapper said: ‘All the male rappers I know love WAP. I feel like, for a long time, men felt like they owned sex.
‘So sometimes when women speak about sex, I feel like it makes other people uncomfortable because it’s like “How dare you talk about your own vagina? You’re not supposed to be talking about a vagina.”
‘But, I mean it’s frickin’ 2020, why am I not allowed to talk about my body? It’s my goddamn body.’
