The two presenters reconnected last week as they filmed the upcoming Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? celebrity special, which will also feature the likes of Diversity’s Jordan Banjo.
Announcing he’s signed up for Jeremy’s show, Piers told his co-host Susanna Reid: ‘I’m in the unnerving position to confirm I have taken part in celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? for a Boxing Day special, appropriately, given that the host is somebody who once punched me three times in the head.’
He continued: ‘It was as tense as you would imagine with Mr Clarkson and I.’
Susanna proceeded to ask when Piers and Jeremy had last been in a room together.
‘We had a big night out at my local pub where we drank ourselves into oblivion and declared peace after a 10 year feud,’ he shared.

Of the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? special, Piers added: ‘It was a fascinating encounter. The banter was off the charts.’
Piers and Jeremy famously clashed at the Press Awards in 2004, where the Grand Tour presenter punched the broadcaster several times in the face.

It’s not known what escalated the incident at that time, but Jeremy ended up breaking his little finger in the altercation, as he had a ring on at the time, and Piers got a scar above his eye.
In a swipe at the incident, Piers sneered: ‘My three-year-old hits me harder than that.’
Piers will be appearing in the special in a bid to win the £1,000,000 prize for charity.
In the second celebrity special Great British Bake Off’s Pru Leith, Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh and comedian Ronni Ancona take a seat in the famous chair and put their knowledge to the test in front of the nation.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
