Noel Gallagher has finally explained what it was that ‘riled’ him about Adele enough to go an extraordinary four-letter word rant about the star recently.
The former Oasis star is pretty well-known for not mincing his words, but eyebrows were raised when he branded fellow British chart-topper Adele, 35, ‘f***ing awful’ and labelled her music ‘offensive’ in a rant in July.
He made his stance on the star crystal clear when asked to give his opinion on the Easy On Me hitmaker’s discography and if he was a fan during a conversation with podcast host Matt Morgan.
‘F**k off, f***ing hell. Name one?’ the 56-year-old musician responded.
‘They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive.’
Now, he has provided additional context to his comments, revealing that he was annoyed after Adele reportedly sent an invitation suggesting a meeting between the pair – but he was not impressed that it came via someone else, rather than her directly.

Noel explained that she had ‘sent someone over to f**king ask, “Did I want to meet her?” That’s what riled me’.
‘I’m not one for causing a scene, I just stick it in the vault and just think revenge is a dish best served cold,’ he added during a recent appearance on Matt Morgan’s podcast, via NME.
He also defended his reputation for getting into squabbles, claiming: ‘I don’t think I have ever gone out of my way to start anything, it’s always been a reaction to some f***ing idiot having a go in the first place.’
‘You know me, I keep myself to myself.’

In the initial conversation, he still suggested he’d be perfectly fine with Adele singing any music he might write if he ever ‘fall[s] out of love with touring’.
‘I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future.
‘I’ll be saying, ”Get Adele to sing that. Don’t call until she’s done the guide vocal.”’
‘”I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to sit on it from a great height. Make me rich”,’ he shared.
The Don’t Look Back In Anger singer has also recently hit out at 1975 frontman Matty Healy after he urged him and younger brother Liam, 50, to ‘grow up’ and reunite Oasis – and naturally Matty then gave as good as he got – as well as misgendering Unholy singer Sam Smith in another scathing rant.

However, the High Flying Birds founder has recently said that he is still in for Oasis to reform ‘no matter what’ after their acrimonious split in 2009, despite his and Liam’s brotherly rift still remaining.
The star is said to have confirmed their togetherness in the face of a revival during a Q&A at The Rose Theatre in Kingston in late August.
According to NME, when asked by an audience member during a recent chat who should be included in an Oasis reunion line-up, Noel replied: ‘So me… Liam… Well, it’s a funny thing because we’re all at a certain age now.

‘Hair was a thing in Oasis, so we’ll have to see what everybody’s hair is looking like. I’m in no matter what,’ he added.
‘This is not f***ing going anywhere. I don’t know. Look. Me, Liam and a load of f***ing fit birds.’
