The catchy tune catapulted the pair to fame, topping the UK singles chart for two weeks.
It was the first release from their debut album, Duophonic, and by far the most successful.
At the time, Eddie sported lengthy raven-coloured locks styled poker straight.
The star, now 60, often accessorised with hoop earrings, silver rings and a longline black leather coat.
He often donned all-black attire for a dramatic look.
Yet now Eddie couldn’t look more different.
Gone are the lengthy locks in favour of his natural grey hair.
He has kept some length styling the top into spikes.
He also has a moustache and silver stubbled beard.
The leather coats have been switched for a wardrobe of patterned shirts, trendy hoodies and sunglasses.
Eddie’s career has also taken a different turn, too.
He became a photographer when Charles sadly died from cancer in 2001.
Yet earlier this year he returned to music, releasing his second album Sundown.
Just last month, he celebrated his milestone 60th birthday and posted an emotional message to his Instagram fans.
He wrote: “Thank you everybody for the beautiful birthday wishes.
“I had no idea what 60 would be like when I was younger but it’s been the most joyful happy love-filled year of my life.”
Recently, we reported how nineties boyband star Jade Jones gave up fame in Damage for a completely different career.
He is best known for being the lead vocalist of 90s boy band Damage and is married to Spice Girl Emma Bunton, 47.
The R&B group sold more than 2.6million records worldwide with singles such as Wonderful Tonight, which reached number three in the UK charts.
Damage disbanded in 2001 before re-connecting in 2014 for ITV2 show The Big Reunion.
Yet he swapped the stage for the kitchen, becoming a chef, going onto work at five-star hotel Claridge’s.
Jade’s carer switch came after a Nineties Britpop star looked completely unrecognisable following his band’s bitter split.
Meanwhile, we recently reported how American rocker Dan Spitz traded in his guitarist role in metal band Anthrax for a career as a watch-maker.
A Nineties hitmaker also switched pop fame to re-train as a mental health nurse – much to the surprise of fans.
