Spotify is always keeping us on our toes when it comes to introducing new features and playlist functions – this year has already given us Playlist In A Bottle and the new AI DJ feature – and we’ve still got Wrapped to come before the year is out.
Now the music streaming service has unveiled its latest treat for users – an ever-changing custom playlist which goes by the name of Daylist.
The function’s available to Free and Premium users in the UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand – but how can you find it, and how does it work?
Here’s all you need to know….
What is Spotify Daylist?
Spotify Daylist is a changing playlist which aims to capture the music you usually listen to on certain days and at certain times.
As the website explains: This new, one-of-a-kind playlist on Spotify ebbs and flows with unique vibes, bringing together the niche music and microgenres you usually listen to during specific moments in the day or on specific days of the week.

So, for example, if you habitually like a bit of rock music on a Tuesday or grime is your thing on a Friday, you’ll get tracks relating to that on those days.
Each playlist will also have a different title relating to the time of day and the sort of music you’re listening to then.
And if you’re not keen on one set of tracks, you won’t have to wait too long for the next, as the playlist updates frequently between morning and evening – and you’ll get new tracks at every update.
‘With relatable titles including thrillwave, happy dance, pumpkin spice, and more, the playlist helps you understand more about your taste in music—and express your unique audio identity,’ Spotify explains.
Each playlist contains around 50 songs and runs for about two and a half hours.
How to get Spotify Daylist
You can find Spotify Daylist on the web player at spotify.com/daylist – or on the mobile app it’s located in the Made For You hub.
Alternatively you can find it by searching ‘daylist’ on the web player or app – with the latter also giving you the time the next updated playlist will drop.
If you’re loving a particular playlist you can also save it to your library – to do so, simply tap the three-dot menu at the top of the playlist (on mobile) or at the top of the screen if you’re using Spotify online, and choose the ‘Add To Your Library’ option.
If you choose not to save a playlist however it will disappear forever once it updates.
