SHREK fans have been waiting years for another instalment of the iconic franchise.

However, they might not be waiting much longer as another film could be on the cards.

Will there be another Shrek movie?

Shrek fans will be excited to know that another film is in the pipeline.

It was hinted at the end of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish that Shrek 5 could be in production.

The end of the film saw Puss (Antonia Banderas), Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) and their new dog Perrito sail to Far Far Away to go and visit old friends, which was thought to be Shrek (Mike Myers), Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and Donkey (Eddie Murphy).

It is thought that Shrek 5 may hit screens on 20 May 2023 in the US.

A storyline for the film has not yet been confirmed.

How does Puss in Boots: The Last Wish end?

The ending of the film consists of Puss, Kitty Softpaws and Perrito finding the star which will give them their last wish, with Puss desperate to reinstate his nine lives and live as a legend for longer.

However, he soon changes his mind as another fight with Death shows him that actually, Kitty and Perrito are all he needs for a good life.

This leads to them tearing up the final wish to live their lives together.

Meanwhile, Big Jack Horner’s (John Mulaney) evil means as the star dies, his attempts to fix the final wish fail and he dies along with it.

Puss, Kitty and Perrito then sail off to ‘see old friends’ in Far Far Away.
