In a twist compared to a Game of Thrones bloodbath by fans, the 22-year-old model was kicked out of the villa after Chloe Burrows decided to couple up with Aaron Francis.
Shannon was among the favourites with viewers, and no one could quite believe she was gone.
However, 80 audience members were so riled, Ofcom confirmed to Metro.co.uk they filed official complaints over the exit, while the show received a further 11 which were uncategorised.
Following Shannon’s exit, Chloe’s family confirmed the 25-year-old received death threats over her decision and are now involving police.
Shannon slammed the vile messages, and said on Good Morning Britain: ‘We’re in 2021 guys.

‘Her family came out and made a statement about the death threats she’s getting, which I totally don’t condone it at all. It’s a game show, she has a job to do.’
‘The fact that she’s received such horrible feedback from everyone is not very nice, everyone needs to practice what they preach, which is be kind.’
Love Island also issues a warning to viewers in a statement which read: ‘We want Love Island to be a positive experience for all our cast and their friends and family members.
‘Last night’s episode created strong reactions but some viewers’ posts were wholly unacceptable. We take these matters extremely seriously and will support cast members and their families in reporting such posts.’
They added: ‘We would once again urge all our viewers to think before posting, and remember that our Islanders are people with feelings.’
Love Island continues tonight at 10pm on ITV2.
