Line Of Duty series 6 threw a spanner in the works when Terry Boyle was arrested in the opening moments of series six.
His reappearance was a surprise, seeing as he has been around since series one but disappeared for a while, having been a vulnerable target for bullies on their downtime from the Organised Crime Group – particularly Ryan Pilkington, who’s now a cop.
But fast forward to the present day and now he’s in the suspect’s chair, having been accosted or his connections to the OCG.
Has he actually turned bad? Or is he being used as a scapegoat for something far more sinister?
One thing’s for sure though – Tommy Jessop, who plays him is absolutely killing it, even away from Line Of Duty.
Here’s everything you need to know about him…
Who is Tommy Jessop?

Tommy Jessop is a 36-year-old actor, who made history as the first star with Down’s Syndrome to play a leading role in a BBC primetime drama.
He’s been in the performing arts from a young age, with his brother William, also developing a career as a producer and director.
The pair are close and often work together, with William filming Tommy’s life as an actor for a documentary called Tommy’s Story in 2008.
In 2014, Tommy featured in Growing Up Down’s, a BBC Three documentary that followed his theatre troupe, Blue Apple Theatre, as they performed a touring production of Hamlet.
What else has Tommy Jessop starred in?
Tommy made his major role debut alongside Nicholas Hoult in 2007 film Coming Down The Mountain.
He also had a guest spot in Holby City the same year, and later went on to appear in Casualty and Doctors.
Over the past three years, he has taken on roles in short films including Innocence, and Down and Out.
With Blue Apple Theatre, he has performed across the country in a series of Shakespeare plays including A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet.
He also starred in the leading role in Living Without Fear, as the victim of a hate crime.
What has happened to Terry Boyle so far on Line Of Duty?
Terry Boyle has been horrifically treated throughout his time on Line Of Duty.
Growing up next to Ryan Pilkington, he didn’t realise that he was being bullied, with the young members of the gang taking advantage of his disability benefits, mocking him and stealing his food.
They later allowed the OCG to store the body of Jackie Laverty in his freezer.
When Terry finally realises that he’s being used, he calls Central Police but couldn’t articulate what had happened, frustrating the officers who left without recovering Jackie.
By series four, Terry is still being controlled and manipulated by Ryan and his friends, with their abuse getting more sinister.
He still has Jackie’s body in the freezer.
At the beginning of series six, he’s been arrested and brought into custody in connection to the murder of journalist Gail Vella – with Joanne Davidson interviews him believing he wanted a sexual relationship with her, only to kill her out of frustration when he couldn’t.
Thankfully, there wasn’t enough evidence to hold him and he was released, after they went to his flat and discovered a second set of finger prints.
It was also revealed that his freezer was missing.
Line Of Duty airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
