The latest episode of WandaVision has premiered and it could lead the way towards a potential Young Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A new week comes to an end and a new episode of WandaVision has graced Disney Plus. The trippy show is still not revealing the nature of its reality, but developments in the latest episode leads to interesting potential for the MCU.
At the end of the last episode, Wanda was revealed to be pregnant. What’s more, it seems that the pregnancy is on the fast track too. That bore out in the third instalment as Wanda went from pregnant to having twins in just one episode.
For fans of the comics, this is significant. Tommy and Billy grow into the superheroes Speed and Wiccan, both prominent members of the Young Avengers supergroup. While the two are a little young right now, we’ve seen the passage of time in the series be a little… flexible. Perhaps they could age rapidly.
Further supporting this potential is that other prominent members of the supergroup are getting ready to be added to the universe. Most notably, Kate Bishop will feature prominently in Disney Plus’s Hawkeye, where she will act as the protege of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. She is being played by Hailee Steinfeld.
Elsewhere, Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie Lang eventually becomes Stature in the comics. She featured in Avengers: Endgame as played by Emma Fuhrman. However, the part was recast with Kathryn Newton taking up the role for the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Two other young heroes and proteges are being added to the universe soon too. Ms. Marvel played by Iman Vellani is getting a series on Disney Plus. Elsewhere, Ironheart, a successor to Iron Man, is also getting a Disney Plus show and will be portrayed by Dominique Thorne.
Neither Ms. Marvel nor Ironheart are canonically in the Young Avengers, but their additions make for interesting timing. There is certainly a slew of young heroes primed to enter the MCU in the near future.
Now, of course, it’s hard to tell right now if what is happening in WandaVision is strictly happening in the MCU. One of the leading theories, based upon the House of M event in the comics, is that Wanda is stuck in a new reality either of her own making or some kind of antagonistic force.
If that is the case, it’s hard to gauge if her children do exist in the canon or just within this pocket dimension. Of course, this could all be happening somehow, and the children might be able to be pulled into the MCU properly. The existence of the multiverse in the films also makes this possible.
Right now, we only have a lot of theories. However, as these younger characters start to establish themselves in the next wave of the MCU, the Young Avengers could become an appealing team-up for the franchise. Especially as more and more members appear to be showing up in the MCU.
WandaVision is available to stream on Disney Plus.
