I’m A Celeb is back! After weeks of anticipation, the series returned to our screens this evening, kicking off the countdown to Christmas and welcoming back Ant and Dec into our lives.
Things were a little different during tonight’s opening episode, with the show relocating from the Australian jungle to the Welsh countryside amid the coronavirus pandemic.
If anyone was worried about the change of scenery beforehand, they needn’t have worried. Fans seemed to love the new set up, with many taking to Twitter to say they even preferred it to the jungle.
The action is taking place at the supposedly haunted Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales, and fans seem to have been won over with the new setting already.
‘Much prefer the castle to the jungle, the set is awesome,’ one wrote.
‘I think I prefer the castle set up,’ another said.

Fans also agreed that the camp reminded them of some of their other favourite shows, resembling zones from the Crystal Maze and Jungle Run.
Tonight’s show saw the likes of Sir Mo Farah, Jessica Plummer, Vernon Kay and Shane Ritchie enter the show, travelling via helicopter or jeep, before abseiling their way into the camp.
Show bosses recently gave fans a behind the scenes look at the grounds – including the freezing cold bedroom where the contestants will sleep and the outside privy.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues daily at 9pm on ITV.
