So it’s hardly surprising that the Royal Family have come up with ways to hide in plain sight as they go about their day-to-day lives.
From Harry’s secret pub doors to Kate’s undercover work placements, here Fabulous reveals the lengths the Royals go to remain under the radar.
Harry and Meghan’s secret supermarket meeting

Kicking off the conversation, the Duke was asked by Dax if he had ever done “mundane things” as a royal, such as go to the supermarket.
“The first time Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending we didn’t know each other, texting each other from the other side of the aisles,” Harry said.
Trying his best not to get recognised, the Duke wore a baseball cap and kept his head down – but was still approached by a couple of eagle-eyed royal fans.
He joked: “I had baseball cap on, looking down at the floor, trying to stay incognito. It’s amazing how much chewing gum you see, it’s a mess!”

In November 2016, Meghan was spotted leaving a Whole Foods store in Kensington – but it is not known if this is where the couple met up.
In the bombshell biography Finding Freedom, Meghan’s pal Omid Scobie and his co-author Carolyn Durand claim the couple had one of their first dates at private members club Soho House to keep their romance under wraps.
Kate and Harry’s private pub door
She has one of the most instantly faces in the world – so when Kate Middleton wants to go for a drink with other mums at George and Charlotte‘s school, she reportedly has her very own private entrance.

And the best part is, the hidden doorway is said to have been previously installed for Prince Harry’s use back in his bachelor days.
In November 2019, the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, managed to sneak in through a secret side door at the Chelsea pub Hollywood Arms for a “meet and greet” party with other parents.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Kate snuck in through her private entrance – designed to keep her away from prying camera phones.
But while enjoying an ordinary evening with other parents, Kate’s discreet security team still kept a close eye on the Duchess.

The pub has additional royal ties after previous owners Willow Crossley and husband Charlie, who sold the pub in 2015, helped to do the flowers for Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding reception.
George and Charlotte’s shopping trip with ‘normal’ Kate
Before she married into the Royal Family, Kate Middleton was frequently spotted shopping on the Kings Road in Chelsea – and she’s continued this tradition with her children too.
Last month, the Duchess reportedly spent an afternoon of shopping with two eldest kids Prince George, seven, and Princess Charlotte, five.

And as these otherwise “normal” kids had to pay for their purchases with their pocket money, they went largely unnoticed.
Alexa, who works in the store the Royals visited, tweeted: “I’ve always been a Kate Middleton fan… today she was in one of my stores on the Kings Road with George and Charlotte, what the team told me about how she was with them and how the kids were with each other makes me like her even more!
“I wasn’t there but she talked to my team, the kids had a budget that they stuck to and paid for their own things with their own money.
“Just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!”
Kate’s undercover work placement

Back when the Duchess was still planning Early Years project, she decided to throw herself in the deep end by going undercover on a work placement in a London hospital.
In November 2019, the mum-of-three spent two days privately working in the Kingston Hospital Maternity Unit in London.
During her time there, the Duchess learnt more about how experiences the first five years of people’s childhoods affect them as adults.
The Duchess is the Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), which cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk while supporting their families.

Diana’s McDonald’s dashes
She might have had access to the world’s top chefs – but when Princess Diana wanted to treat her sons, she’d simply take them to McDonald’s.
Speaking to Marie Claire, Darren explained that he would offer to make burgers and fries for them to enjoy in Palace grounds.

But the mum-of-two insisted that her boys loved the toys that came in the Happy Meals and enjoyed taking them on the “secret” trips.
He said: “I remember the Princess came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s.
“And I said, ‘Oh my god – your Royal Highness, I can do that, I can do burgers.’ And she said, ‘No, it’s the toy they want.”
He continued: “The boys loved McDonald’s, and going out to pizza, and having potato skins—sort of the American foods.

“They were royal princes but had children’s palates.”
What’s more, the royal’s s former butler Paul Burrell has previously revealed that a trip to McDonald’s was Diana’s “Saturday night ritual” with the boys.
Paul told the Mirror: “The three of them would nip to McDonald’s for a Big Mac and fries before coming back to watch Blind Date.”
