Good Morning Britain causes confusion as wrong news broadcast aired
Good Morning Britain was plagued by technical issues on Monday morning with the incorrect news bulletins playing in London.
Usually, ITV News teams across the country deliver regional bulletins every day on the programme with the latest news, weather and travel updates.
But an error meant that viewers in London received the Meridian news instead.
‘Now, if you’ve joined us from London, welcome,’ a newsreader said. ‘Technical issues are continuing. Hopefully though, they will be resolved in time for the lunchtime news two.
‘From all the team here, bye bye.’
It’s safe to say that viewers were confused by the mishap, with many asking why the wrong broadcast had aired.

‘You’re showing Meridian news/weather for London again,’ one viewer pointed out.
‘@GMB why are we in south London seeing Meridian news?’ another asked.
A third added: ‘Good morning GMB. Why am I seeing Meridian instead of London for my local news, travel and weather? I don’t live in that area.’
Good Morning Britain aired a jam-packed show today, with newsreader Alex Beresford stopping by following his All-Star Musicals win on Sunday.
‘When I got to the stage door, I forgot all the words,’ he said. ‘No cue cards, nothing, and I started merging verse one with verse two.’
Luckily, when Alex got on stage the lyrics came flooding back.
Elsewhere, Shadow Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson outlined what the Labour party would do to tackle the cost of living crisis before explaining their children’s recovery plan.
‘We wouldn’t have gone ahead with the national insurance rise that the government are intent on proceeding with, which means families are facing the biggest tax burden in 70 years,’ Ms Phillipson started.
‘That puts us out of step with most other countries who recognize in the face of all this, the last thing that you should be doing is putting up taxes on working [class] families who are in such a difficult position.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
