Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford has insisted he’s not getting a coronavirus vaccine when one becomes available.
The stars of the Channel 4 show were left stunned when they watched a news report on Pfizer’s recent breakthrough that their vaccine candidate is more than 90% effective in preventing Covid-19.
However, Pete and his sister Sophie weren’t too convinced.
Sophie, 24, said: ’50 per cent of me is very excited, the other 50 is thinking, at some point, I’m gonna have to have [an] injection here.’
Pete, 25, went further, insisting: ‘I’m not having it, I don’t like injections.’
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has reportedly told the NHS to be ready to roll out a jab from the beginning of December if it is approved – with discussions taking place on who will get their hands on it first.

Meanwhile, questions have started to arise, including whether proof of having had the vaccine would be essential for travel, buying concert tickets, and returning to work.
Elsewhere on Gogglebox, the stars reacted to the US presidential election, Ant and Dec’s Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story, and Naked Attraction.
Pete and Sophie have been on Gogglebox since 2017, recently opening up to Metro about the best part of the job.
Sophie explained: ‘For me, it’s the friends that we’ve made. We live in quite a small town. The people we’ve met through the show are lifelong friends. It’s not an ordinary thing to do. I just can’t believe we do it. I think it’s amazing.’
Pete added: ‘The nice thing is when you’re having a bit of a s*** day and you nip to the shop and someone goes, “Oh, I love you two.” That just picks you up and you think yeah, life’s not all bad.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Pete Sandiford for comment.
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
