Forest Whitaker confesses he’s still not got to grips with modern technology.
The actor spoke ahead of the release of his new film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, in which he plays an inventor who has one of his prized designs stolen.
In an interview alongside director David E Talbert, Forest said that he’s not as ‘savvy’ with technology as his character Jeronicus Jangle, but he is working on getting his head around his smartphone.
He told Metro.co.uk and other press: ‘David thinks I’m so far behind the times that I’m just like an antiquated dinosaur somewhere trying to work a stone tablet!
‘I’m okay with my iPhone, my iPad, my computer. I’m just not like the savviest with moving from app to app and stuff like that. I’m working on it.
‘I have an AOL account which is embracing the past. Is this movie about that? To be able to say, “Hey I got that, and I got this too.”.’

The feel good festive movie features original songs co-created by John Legend, Philip Lawrence and Davy Nathan, and viewers will get to hear Forest’s beautiful singing voice.
The Black Panther star revealed he started out in music before he got into acting.
‘It was my music teacher who asked me to audition for a play,’ he said, adding that he landed a part in Under Milk Wood and his acting career snowballed from there.
Forest said: ‘I did this light opera and I got my very first acting agent, but I left it all behind because I thought that I wouldn’t be able to communicate well enough through my music and classical music. So I started to just act.
‘It’s been decades and I just haven’t dealt with music at all, so by the time I got to this one I was quite nervous actually, to try to sing again. As it grew, I started to enjoy it, I started to bug David about actually letting me sing more!’
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is out November 13 on Netflix.
