Morning TV on Christmas Day sorted (Credits: Ken McKay/ITV/REX)
While some people may prefer to sleep in on Christmas Day, others traditionally wake up early on 25 December, eager to start the festivities with plenty of presents and delicious food.
If anyone happens to be up during the early hours on Christmas, when they turn on their TVs, they’ll find Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid starting the day with a special celebratory show on Good Morning Britain.
ITV has confirmed that from 7am, Good Morning Britain’s Christmas show will pay homage to people who have been acting heroically throughout the coronavirus pandemic, including members of the NHS and Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised over £32m for NHS Charities Together earlier this year.
Following the two-hour show, Lorraine Kelly will take over the reins with her eponymous show, sharing with her viewers how she celebrates Christmas.
Then at 10am, This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield will host the morning show on Christmas for the first time.
ITV said that the This Morning Christmas show will be ‘packed full of heart-warming surprises, special guests, and of course favourite familiar faces’.
A few weeks later, Piers will sit down with stars including actor Rupert Everett, Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan and reality television star Gemma Collins for new episodes of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
Earlier this week, This Morning viewers accused the show of snubbing the two-minute silence for Remembrance Day, following a mix-up with timings between the ITV studio and a silence being held in Belfast.
Following the two-minute silence, Philip acknowledged that something had gone wrong, stating: ‘I think someone’s watch was wrong half-way through there, but these things happen.’
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am, Lorraine at 9am and This Morning at 10am on ITV.
