Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough announced he tested positive for a breakthrough case of Covid-19, just one week before the season 20 finale.
The 36-year-old shared the news with fans on Tuesday as he posted a video on Instagram.
‘I have some news to share, and I wanted you to hear it straight from me,’ the professional dancer began. ‘Even though I’ve been fully vaccinated, I’ve just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of Covid.’
He continued: ‘I just found out and I feel OK. I feel strong. I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals to get better as fast as I can. I’m currently in quarantine.
‘I’ll make sure to keep you guys all updated with what’s going on, but I just want to send my love out there to all. Stay safe.’
In the caption for the video, Derek told fans that his upcoming shows in Las Vegas for this week were being rescheduled.
However, he didn’t provide any update as to whether his positive diagnosis would impact the finals of DWTS which takes place on November 22.
Competition is fierce as contestants JoJo Siwa, Cody Rigsby, Amanda Kloots, and Iman Shumpert attempt to win the mirrorball trophy.
Sunday night’s episode saw Amanda saved from elimination after performing a contemporary routine to her late husband Nick Cordero’s song Live Your Life.
