CAROL Smillie was one of telly’s most glam presenters when she burst onto the scene in the 1990s.
A popular host of Wheel of Fortune and Changing Rooms, the Scots star always looked incredible any time she stepped in front of the camera.

But before she shot to fame on TV, Carol started her career as a model.
She joined an agency called Best Modelling Agency – however, at 5ft 5in she was too short to be a catwalk model and booked shoots and promotions instead.
Now 61-years-old, the Glaswegian appears to be defying the ageing process – as she still looks the same after finding fame more than three decades ago.
And the mum of three, now a celebrant, has kindly shared some of her top tips over the years on how she’s retained her youthful looks.
She also published her own book, ‘Carol Smillie’s Working Mum’s Handbook’, and pre – and post – natal fitness DVD ‘Changing Shape’.
Carol boasts perfect pins after undergoing sclerotherapy treatment.
This eliminates varicose and spider veins, as well as laser hair removal.
She has also labelled her fashion sense as simplistic and told how she prefers to “wear a lot of draping and layers”.
Though she’s not a big fan or exercise, she thinks the fact she doesn’t smoke and isn’t a big drinker has helped.
And she believes getting get eight hours of sleep a night has stood her in better stead than anything else.
Carol previously said: “I like to keep a bit of maintenance going, as long as it’s minimal and not bad for you and doesn’t change things dramatically.
“You have to be a wee bit careful about how you dress and your makeup changes slightly.
“Less is more sometimes – but doing it in a classy way without being mutton dressed as lamb.
“I just think ‘good underwear and a good haircut.’
“I’m not 18 and I’m never going to be again.”
