BBC News presenter Lukwesa Burak has definitely brought the festive cheer with her Christmas Eve intro.
Donning a Santa hat, the reporter adapted the classic Christmas poem ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas to bring us all news of the NORAD Santa Tracker, which allows children to follow St Nick’s journey around the globe.
Lukwesa began her frankly essential festive news report by saying: ‘Now, ’twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
‘The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. And any moment now, Santa’s journey will begin and thus we bring you this news, just in…
‘Santa is close, with stockings to fill, so get to bed quick – this is not a drill! But before you wake up to pull your Christmas cracker, let’s get updated on Santa’s progress from the NORAD Santa Tracker.’
Lukwesa’s colleague Daniel Whittenberg tweeted the festive clip, saying: ‘A pleasure and a privilege to be here to witness the best BBC News intro ever.

Meanwhile, the news anchor wasn’t the only one to be sharing a spot of Christmas cheer from the BBC, with Louise Minchin being praised for packing BBC Breakfast with positive stories.
From the remarkable story of nine-year-old Freddie, who is running two kilometres every day to raise money for the hospital treating his best friend battling leukaemia, to catching up with heroes of the year such as the man of 2020, Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Freddie, a lifelong dedicated Burnley FC fan was also surprised by fellow supporter and I’m A Celebrity star Jordan North which had viewers in bits.
Viewers were delighted to wake up to stories of strength and courage amid what is no doubt a different Christmas to the day they’ve been planning.
