Filming for series three of Ricky Gervais’s black comedy After Life is currently underway – and here’s a sneak peek of what’s in store.
The series, which Rick also writes, produces and directs, follows the life of Tony Johnson, who works as a journalist at the fictional Tambury Gazette newspaper.
His life is turned upside down after his wife Lisa, played by Kerry Godliman, dies from breast cancer.
An official plot synopsis has yet to be released for this series, but the show will be picking up after the events of series two, which saw Tony’s father die of dementia in his nursing home.
Photos shared today show Ricky wearing a grey hoodie and black trousers while on set.

One shot shows the fictional fair, with its blue and red flags, a beer tent and information tent, and a colourful booth with the word ‘tokens’ on the side.
The entryway, which says 500 Tambury Fair, could allude to the fact that this is the 500th year of its existence.
The hit comedy first arrived in 2019 on the streaming platform and has since become one of the most bittersweet shows of its kind.
Ricky confirmed that After Life would be returning for a third and final series last May.
Breaking the news on Twitter, he said: ‘Because so many of you watched #AfterLife2 so quickly and made it Number 1 again, the nice people at @Netflix have suggested that I get off my fat a**e and do another season. This is all your fault.’
Series one and two of After Life can be streamed on Netflix.
