What is a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) Certification
A Certified Scrum Product Owner is someone who can serve as a product owner (or PO) for a Scrum team, whether working in a traditional or agile software development setting. The Scrum product owner is responsible for translating business needs into user stories, which are then implemented by teams of three to nine people. The Certified Safety Professional (CSPO®) certification is the most recognized global standard for the safety profession and they must have a cspo certification. And for those not familiar with Agile development methods, Scrum refers to one of many Agile frameworks—others include XP and Lean—that emphasize incremental delivery of solutions and continuous improvement. As such, Scrum features two main roles: POs and development teams.

Steps to Become a CSPO®
If you’ve never been through a certification process, it can seem like a daunting—if not impossible—task. But don’t worry! The good news is that becoming a CSPO® isn’t as difficult as you might think. As long as you’re passionate about agile and willing to put in some elbow grease, it’s well within your reach. And while there are several steps in becoming certified, that doesn’t mean it’s an overly complicated process. On average, most certified practitioners recommend committing up to 12 months to studying and taking an exam after finishing training classes. To help make things a little less overwhelming, we’ve broken down these steps into three phases of study so you can take things one step at a time…and earn your certification along the way.
Product Owner Certification
Despite what many think, being an agile product owner isn’t simply sitting down and coming up with great ideas and writing user stories on a whiteboard. Being an agile product owner is hard work that requires communication, planning, and attention to detail. With that in mind, there are several benefits of holding a CSPO® certification. For example, having your professional title associated with such credentials will give your employer confidence that you’re ready for any challenge in your new role as a product owner.
In addition, gaining product owner certification will demonstrate to prospective employers that you have not only taken the time to learn the best practices but also gained skills and knowledge through real-world experience. Employers may see your Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) Certification as evidence of how capable you are of working within agile environments.
