Posting to social media, she revealed the number one product skincare experts recommend is Vaseline.
“There’s a reason why Vaseline is the No.1 dermatologist-recommended product,” she began the video.
“It’s super affordable, it doesn’t clog pores, and she’s a multifunctional queen.”
The skincare whizz then went on to reveal her top three uses for the versatile product.
First up was using it to lock in moisturiser on your lips.
She explained: “Apply Vaseline over your favourite moisturizer at night for hydrated lips the next morning..”
The dermatologist also recommended putting it on to cuts or wounds to help them heal.
“Vaseline creates a protected barrier and a moist environment, which means faster wound healing,” the dermatologist explained.
Lastly, the skincare expert recommended using it on your cuticles instead of trying to cut them down.
“Your cuticles protect your nail matrix and they stop bacteria from getting in,” she added.
“Do not cut them.
“Apply a thin layer of Vaseline to your cuticles to soften the skin and keep your nails healthy.”
Petroleum jelly’s benefits come from its main ingredient petroleum, which helps seal your skin with a water-protective barrier. This helps your skin heal and retain moisture.
It’s best to buy one that has been triple distilled, like Vaseline, which you can pick up for 60p at Waitrose.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @dermatology.doctor has since gone viral with over 20k likes.
One person wrote: “I swear by Vaseline for anything.”
Another commented: “That’s why I always have a vaseline in my pouch (the smallest tub).”
“My dentist also recommended it for cold sores and it works great,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “I have eyelid dermatitis nothing helped but Vaseline!”
“I’ve used it around my eyes at night for over 20 years to seal my eye serum in. Minimal lines and I’m 43,” claimed a fifth.
