Having modelled for Vogue, Giorgio Armani and Chanel, Emily DiDonato knows a thing or two about looking good on camera.
The 32-year-old is a natural beauty, known for her signature brown locks, bright blue eyes and ‘girl next door’ vibes.
It is this look that landed her contract with Victoria’s Secret in 2009, with her appearing on billboards across the globe.
Over a decade later though, the model has taken to Tiktok and revealed how to get an essential part of the Victoria Secret’s look: classic waves.

Ironically, the mum-of-two had struggled with hair and yearned for a chic ‘cool girl’ vibes until learning this hair hack while modelling.
“I have very thick coarse hair,” she explained, adding: “I’m always trying to create that sort Sienna Miller, cool girl, undone look but I can’t do that with my natural texture…it’s insane.”
Even stylist would complain about her hair, with Emily saying: “Whenever I work on set with hair stylists they would be like, it is hard to make my hair feel cool…because it’s so wavy and curly”
Whilst you’d presume that the supermodel spends a small fortune on her hair, she actually just reaches for her wooly hat.
Though it seems too good to be true, the model says that a simple beanie will help reduce frizz without adding extra product to your hair.
Her method is surprisingly simple too, with Emily revealing that she will usually throw on the knitwear after styling her hair with a straightener.
She told fans: “I do my hair with my flat iron waves and then I put a hat…it takes away the volume and the flyaways on top.”
The former Victoria’s Secret model also added that she loves the shape of her hair as the hack helps her hair frame her face.
Smoothing out her hair out on camera, she said: “I feel like it gives the hair a real nice shape…I like the flatness on top and I like the way my hair frames my face.”
In fact, the supermodel has become so reliant on her hat that she will wear it almost every day whilst getting ready to go to work or run errands.
Though it’s not the strange celebrity beauty secret we’ve come across, it’s probably the easiest and fans were eager to use this nifty tip.
“Wait I love this! I always love how my hair looks after wearing a hat so this makes a lot of sense,” gushed one fans, with others revealing that they already used knew this beauty tip.
Another added: “I thought I was the only person who does this!!! Yes!”
Meanwhile, a third even shared their own beauty hack in the comment and revealed that they have different way to get relaxed waves.
They wrote: “Yeah I do the same. Sometimes I twist up the hair into two buns or one at the back and tuck it under too. The head heat seems to do something!”
With the milder weather set to stay for a while, this might be the hair hack we’ve been waiting for.
