THERE’S been plenty of hype about Aldi’s new range of make-up dupes which have been released in stores this week.
But one unlikely contender has been deemed the best buy of the whole range – the Cardinal Red Eau de Parfum.

Priced at just £5.99, shoppers are in absolute disbelief about how much the fragrance smells like the cult-favourite Baccarat Rouge 540.
Celebs from Rihanna to Molly Mae have declared themselves fans of Baccarat Rouge, a medium-sized bottle of which will set you back an eye-watering £235.
So it’s not surprising that savvy beauty fanatics are dumbfounded that Aldi have perfectly replicated the scent for nearly £230 less.
In a clip posted on TikTok, one fragrance-fanatic told viewers she couldn’t believe just how similar the two products smelt.
Sophie Parry, who posts on TikTok as @haulswithsophparryy, joked with followers that she “really wanted to gatekeep the product” because it’s just so good.
Sophie then took a whiff of both Aldi’s perfume and the Baccarat Rouge, before declaring “Oh my God… Wish I’d picked up a few, because I feel like next time I go back there’s not going to be any there.”
The beauty buff added that the dupe also smelled similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud, a bottle of which would set you back around £33 – five times as much as Aldi’s.
“It’s just amazing,” she said as she sniffed the bottle. “It’s just unreal.”
“I can’t believe they’ve done a Baccarat Rouge dupe… RUN to Aldi.”
Another TikToker, Mollie Smith, shared her excitement at having bagged the stellar swap before it inevitably sells out.
She shared a clip of her showing off the perfume, simply captioned: “Aldi have done it again.”
Viewers shared the love in the comments, raving that the cologne “lasts for ages” and is a “a bargain for £5.99”.
Molly also pointed out that fans of Kilian’s Love Don’t be Shy, which retails for a staggering £220, would be super impressed by Aldi’s £5.99 Lacura Intense Passion.
It’s safe to say this latest range of dupes has sent the internet into meltdown, with shoppers clearing shelves and sharing their reviews of the economical alternatives.
Thrifty beauty lovers have been raving about the supermarket’s Lacura Rose Cleansing Balm, which is a dead ringer for Elemis’s Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm – albeit £31 cheaper.
And a skincare pro recently shared that she thinks Aldi’s £4.99 BHA toner, a copy of the famous Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, is every bit as good.
